God's Promises Are True

Dec 16, 2024

Hey, y’all!

I don’t know about you, but there are days when it feels like everything’s shifting under my feet. People let us down. Plans fall apart. Even our own best intentions seem to come up short. It’s easy to get discouraged when the things we thought we could count on turn out to be shaky.

But there’s one thing that never wobbles, never falters, and never fails: God’s promises. They’re rock-solid, trustworthy, and true because they’re backed by the One who never breaks His word. Numbers 23:19 lays it out plain and simple:

“God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”

In other words, if God said it, you can count on it. Period.

God Doesn’t Lie

Let’s be honest—people can be flaky. We all know what it feels like when someone says one thing and does another. But God isn’t like that. His promises aren’t empty words; they’re guarantees. He doesn’t say something and then back out. He doesn’t get distracted or change His mind. When God makes a promise, He means it.

When doubt starts whispering in your ear, remind yourself: “God doesn’t lie. If He promised it, He’ll do it.” That truth can steady you when everything else feels uncertain. And if you ever feel like you need extra support navigating these truths, reaching out to a Christian Life Coach can help you stay grounded in God’s word and apply it to your everyday life.

God’s Track Record Is Perfect

If you need proof that God keeps His promises, just take a look at His track record. The Bible is filled with story after story of God doing exactly what He said He would do. He promised Abraham descendants as numerous as the stars—and He delivered. He promised to free the Israelites from Egypt—and He did. He promised to send a Savior—and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, right on time.

God’s been keeping His word for thousands of years. He’s not going to stop now.

Action: Think back to a time in your own life when God came through for you. Write it down as a reminder that His promises hold true, even today.

God’s Promises Aren’t Based on Our Feelings

Here’s the thing about promises: they don’t depend on how we feel. There are days when we feel strong in our faith and days when we feel wobbly. But God’s promises remain the same. They’re not based on our moods or circumstances; they’re based on His unchanging nature.

Psalm 119:90 says, “Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.” If God can keep the whole universe steady, He can surely keep His promises to you.

Prayer: “Lord, thank You that Your promises don’t depend on how I feel. Help me to trust in Your word, even when life feels uncertain.”

When You Doubt, Go to the Word

When doubt creeps in, the best thing you can do is go straight to Scripture. The Bible is packed with God’s promises, and reading them can remind you of His faithfulness. It’s like recharging your hope when it’s running low.

Here are a few promises to hold onto:

  • Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.”
  • Romans 8:28: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good.”
  • Joshua 1:9: “Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Tip: Pick one of these verses and carry it with you today. When doubt shows up, read it and let God’s promise remind you of the truth.

Hold On Tight

God’s promises are like a lifeline in a storm. When everything else feels shaky, you can hold onto them and know that they won’t break. He is faithful, He is constant, and He will do what He said He would do.

So today, take a deep breath and remember: You can trust Him. His promises are as reliable as ever, and He’s holding onto you tighter than you could ever hold onto Him. And if you’re looking for guidance to deepen your faith journey, a Christian Life Coach can help you explore these promises more fully and apply them to your walk with God.

Blessings to you all!
