Give back.

I want to give back. Here’s how I propose to do it.

I heard a term the other day that makes perfect sense: Quarantine fatigue. It’s pretty self-explanatory. Folks are tired of being in, perhaps against their will.

I won’t get into the dynamics of what’s happening. You probably have your own mind made up as to how you’re going to conduct yourself in the days ahead.

Still … I think that we’re still looking toward “staying in” for a while longer. I understand that in some households – maybe yours – you’ve just about exhausted things to do.

And it may be you’ve exhausted what you can do for yourself and your loved ones to keep you healthy in all areas, and not just physically.

I want to give you something. I want to give back some of what I’ve received.

Some time back I was introduced to the concept of life coaching right here in Mississippi. My thoughts prior to this introduction were, “Yeah, right. Bogus.”

Well, I was so, so wrong.

Life coaching, turns out, is something I’m hard-wired for. I’m all about being an encourager and giving hope. But what if there was a way I could step out of that role and, rather than trying to teach, persuade, convince someone else, I was able to lead that other person to set their own agenda and goals and help them realize those goals?

I’m in. This is so me! I look on it as an extension of ministry – I come at this from a Christian worldview, and while this is not “spiritual coaching,” it can have that element if you like. You set the agenda and goals of what you want to accomplish.

Just about anyone can call themselves a life coach. But last year I was certified as a coach through the John Maxwell Team. That’s gold standard stuff right there.

I want to give back. So I want to give you a life coaching experience. There are absolutely no strings, no agenda, nothing of the sort.

Because I’m finite, I can’t coach everyone who wants to be coached. So I thought it’d be fun to do this as a contest or giveaway.

The lucky winner (I’ve always wanted to say that because it’s so cheesy!) will receive a month’s worth of coaching. That’s four sessions, not counting the initial intake activities.

You’ll have a blast with this. And, my stars, what better way to spend these quarantined days in something helpful, positive, affirming, and potentially life-changing?

And – mammas and daddies take note – whoever wins can use the coaching for your teenager. I think this is a big deal. I want to give back – and here’s the way I feel led to do this. After working with teenagers for 40+ years … well, it ain’t my first rodeo.

You can see how life coaching for adults works here.

I can’t stress it enough – I want to give back. This is not, not, not some sort of hustle. I’d hate it if someone did that to me. My integrity simply won’t allow it.

All that being said, I’d love for you to be the one to receive this. I wish I could give away a dozen of them. But at no time do I take on more than five “trainees” at a time, simply because there aren’t enough hours in the day.

So. Let’s play. I want to give back. This is how I will give back.

Be blessed. Stay safe. Stay healthy. God’s got you.

Pilgrim, sojourner, encourager.
